About Us

What is the Rack pack’s master plan?

The mission of Rack Pack, Inc. is to connect those going through similar circumstances and to be a network of support. Although The Rack Pack meets in person and connects online, those limited interactions are often not enough to form a true bond where women feel comfortable enough to open up. The master plan of Rack Pack, Inc. is to organize and facilitate an annual (or even semi-annual) retreat where women can form deeper bonds than a single meeting or online interaction can provide. There are many aspects of breast cancer that are too personal to discuss with a stranger. Women may come to the retreat as individuals but will leave as sisters.

Who can join The Rack Pack?

The only requirement of membership is that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. We are physically located in West Tennessee so all meetings and social events will occur in the rural West TN area. Online support is available anywhere, anytime.

What kind of support does the Rack Pack provide?

The Rack Pack provides physical, emotional and spiritual support by connecting those who are going through similar circumstances. Sometimes there are things that only another breast cancer patient/survivor will understand.

  • Meetings - Breast cancer survivors and occasionally their caregivers participate in regular meetings and other social activities. Some meetings are educational in nature. Some past topics have included genetic testing, complementary therapies (such as chiropractic, yoga and acupuncture), nutrition, and lymphedema. Other meetings are purely social where the ladies of The Rack Pack get together to enjoy each other’s company.

  • Virtual Support - The Rack Pack also provides virtual support to breast cancer survivors by facilitating a private Facebook group where survivors can post questions, concerns, or victories and get feedback from other women who have been in their shoes.

What fees, if any, are charged?

There are no fees associated with being a member of The Rack Pack.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes, Rack Pack, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation so all donations are tax deductible.

How is Rack Pack different from other Breast Cancer Organizations?

The Rack Pack is more than pink ribbons or 5K runs. We support the large national organizations that raise money for breast cancer research. But The Rack Pack consider themselves the “boots on the ground” supporting fellow survivors through their battle with breast cancer.

WHERE ARE RACK PACK EVENTS HELD?

The Rack Pack events occur in the Jackson, TN area in West Tennessee. Currently members hail from different walks of life and various locations.
